Finnish baja projekt.B to T

Post by Suomipoika » 08 Feb 2012, 19:20

Hello.
I try to make my story fast, but put more pictures to watch...
Ok, this is rtr model baja 5b, and it´s the first one.
I bought it as asecond hand, but done thing or two to it.
Next thing is that, i do it a 5t...
This is how it came to me.
Cost only 350€-.--
And there was quit a lot tuning parts on it, like ss model diff, suspensions and few other parts and turtle racing alloy parts as well, and dominator v2 exhaust and rpm a-arms.
Image
And then i started to do it look that way that i wanted...
Not that much story, pics mostly, too tired to write at this time of day
Image
deanodizing
Image
Dyed all a-arms
Image
I have this integy sandrail cage for this too, but i dont used, even used once because i got new exhaust and it wont fit inside the cage.
Image
90€ + shipping if some one is interested :D
Panels are done, but it´not been on the road.
Image
Image
New body.
Image
Image
Winter tires.
Image
I try to find more picture tomorrow.
Then it was time to do something about that diff, and new carbon brakes.
Image
Image
Image
Also got new fullmod phr engine 26cc 2-bolt.
Image
with elcon clutch.
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
New carburetor wt-813 and tall velocity stack
Image
New airfilter and prefilter.
Image
victory pro pipe silenced.
Image
Image
Any one who has driven winter with gas car, know that snow goes in to the carburetor and freezes the servo links.
I did this version of warm air blower of the crank :rock2:
Image
It should be workin good, but not yet tested because here in Joensuu has been -20 and more last 2-weeks.
More pictures to come when i got those 5t plastic parts from mmr large scale.
Woodster lidz body is that what im going to use on this car..

Gyus who has been driven on snow, knows that carburator gets iced very quick, with this patent you can avoid that.
Here is few picture that my carburetor warm air blower.
What name i did just wrote for that system:D

I did test it today, and it worked really well.
No iced carburator problem this time.
It is more like a air scoop, but it blows warm air from flywheel straight to carburator.

Ok, some new modification on this one.
Here in siperia air is getting warmer and spring is coming sure, but slowly..
So i thought that it is time to cut that box a bit, to get more air to the engine.
Now it is year round use, with that setup.
It can drive in winter, and summer too.
Trash and depris keeps out of the car chassis and importand parts.
Cost about 2€, and it was nice projekt to do.
