Juhas rr v4

Post by Suomipoika » 23 Nov 2012, 19:41

Hello guys.

Finally got my mcd rr v4 today..
It is competition model and i bought it from a guy who has only driven it for a competitions and won one..
And first i did i put electrics on..
This one came with savöx 20kg servos on it and all three of those.
I have had bad memories about power switch so i did it so, that im not use power switch at all.
Only thing is now with these deans connectors.

And best way to secure your receiver is use condom, and not put in to your wiener :D
Image
I used neopren to do do radiobox soft enough to do receiver life as good as it can be.

Pipe is samba four power ultimate latest version.

And some one has thinking that will that tr v2 pull start to fit in mcd, and yes that will.
But need to do heat protection for it that it wont melted that prefilter.
It is so freaking close to the header.
And also good news those who has been thinking to get obr/tr clutch housing, it will fit perfectly, no mod needed.

Mather a fact, you would drill a hole to the chassis and put one screw to hold it down as well..
So the engine would hold in three bolts, as it also sits on the gear plate too.
I hope that i can do first drive next week, but it depend on the weather..
Let´s it would would get freeze finally..
Here is also my baja 5t in same picture..

My wife was not so pleased that i did bought second car, but this is my only hobby, since i got fibromyalgia, i am not able to do work out or any other hard exercise anymore..
But kids loved it at first site :toung:
Image
I did do workout about 20-years before i did get come down with disease...
But im still a life and can do something, so i think i am not so bad condition as i could be..
So this is my hobby and i put 100% for it, like i did put on the gym before i got sick..
And good about this is that my kids are also very interested of this hobby too, what is a good thing.
We can do it together, some how i could turn my wife head to this, and i would be so pleased
But then i would be in big danger, she would know exactly how much these things cost :o

Thanks John..
Idea of that power switch is not mine, i soo that in the internet and thought that im going to do that same too..
Every one knows like in hpi baja, how stupid place that original switch is and that silicone cover is broke in no time when you try to put the electric on, and after it´s broke, water and crap gets to it and it wont work long and that can do some headache when that switch dies in full speed....
Yes i am from Finland, city of Joensuu. ;)

cheers. ;)
Carb is not even tuned yet, that was just quick spin with the car..
So far i am happy with it..
Next time i have some pressure in my banc account, im going to buy new shell to my mcd and custom paint it like this left side mcd is..
Image
But that might take a while.
Next week i have to pay +200€ for the alloy mcd gear carrier.
And later on i buy those alloy digg housing´s.
Lsd diff´s i am not gonna buy because im not gonna race this car.
Good thing about the mcd is, there is not that many bling part on this car like there is in baja and 5-ive t
Im going to save some cash on this one..
Baja has eaten so much euros that i dont even want to count it :oopsboard:

Some racing with my brother, but for sure that camera battery dies just when the fun starts :curse:

That gizmo engine gives plenty of speed that mcd, and torgue is also good.
Only thing i dont like is that clutch, it´s fg 2-shoe clutch and hpi 8000rpm spring on it.
Maybe teflon one would be better.

I find out that the cy model clutch holder does not be the right one to mcd car.
The clutc shoes are 1/3 size out the clutch bell..
So i did use zenoah model and did filed it a bit so that would fit on to the obr/cy clutch housing.

This way the whole clutch shoe is now taking a grip to the clutch bell.
Should give more grip to take off..
